Dean Wu Haitao Visited AMBA&BGA Global Headquarters

On the morning of 11 June 2024, Wu Haitao, Dean of the School of Business Administration (SBA), accompanied Hou Zhenfa, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), and Luan Yongyu, Director of the Institute of Ecological Civilization to visit the global headquarters of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates (AMBA&BGA) in London, U.K. They were received by Mr. Andrew Main Wilson, the Chief Executive Officer of AMBA & BGA.



Mr. Wilson began by warmly welcoming the delegation to the AMBA & BGA Global Headquarters and highly commended the achievements of ZUEL in obtaining AMBA and BGA accreditation. He noted that ZUEL, being one of the early financial universities in mainland China to receive dual accreditation, has been unanimously praised by the AMBA & BGA Accreditation Committee for the distinctive features of its School of Business Administration in talent cultivation.


Secretary Hou then detailed the key characteristics of ZUEL's MBA education during its transformation phase, highlighting the progress in responsible management education and sustainable development. He mentioned that ZUEL has integrated the international accreditation of AMBA & BGA into its 14th Five-Year Plan, fully supports the international accreditation and internationalization of SBA, and expressed hopes for increased collaboration to further internationalize ZUEL's business education through the AMBA & BGA accreditation.

 

Dean Wu discussed the efforts and contributions of SBA in areas such as Female Leadership development, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development. He updated Mr. Wilson on the preparations for the upcoming joint re-accreditation by AMBA & BGA, scheduled for the end of October this year, and extended a sincere invitation for Mr. Wilson to visit Wuhan, China, to provide guidance on the work of SBA's business education.

 

In conclusion, Mr. Wilson offered several recommendations regarding the joint re-accreditation and the future development of the SBA. He did so by considering the latest trends in business education, with the aim of showcasing more compelling stories of Chinese business schools on the global stage of business education.
