SBA Successfully Held “Quality and International Strategy Symposium” for the Deans of Institutes of Economics and Management with MBA Education in Hubei Province

On February 19, 2023, the Quality & International Strategy Symposium For Deans of Institutes of Economics and Management with MBA Education in Hubei Province was held in the conference hall of Wenhuan Building of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL). Jointly initiated by the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network (SREEN) and SBA (MBA Education Center) of ZUEL, and organized by SBA (MBA Education Center) of ZUEL, the symposium invited deans from 15 Institutes of Economics and Management with MBA Education in Hubei Province to discuss how to develop quality business education.



Prof. Yao Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of ZUEL, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Prof. Wu Haitao, Dean of the SBA of ZUEL, presided over the symposium. Prof. Wang Zhongming, the senior professor of Arts of Zhejiang University as wells as the president of SREEN, delivered a keynote report for the symposium.

Prof. Qian Xuefeng, the director of the Academic Affairs Department of ZUEL, Wang Hualu, secretary of the Party Committee of the SBA, Prof. Fei Xianzheng, Prof. Wenhao and Prof. Shi Junwei, Vice Deans of the SBA and Associate Prof. Du Peng, the academic director of MBA Education Center of the SBA also attended the symposium.


Vice President Yao Li firstly extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all deans of Institutes of Economics and Management and directors of MBA Center. Special thanks were given to Prof. Wang Zhongming for his long-term leadership and guidance on the international development of Chinese business schools as well as his concern and assistance on the development of MBA education and the SBA of our university. In her speech, Vice President Yao Li reviewed the development and achievements of our MBA education. Facing the quality development of business schools nowadays, China should not only form its own characteristics of business education by rooting in its land, but also explore new momentum and new track to lead the future. It’s also important to strengthen the close communication and cooperation with foreign counterparts, so as to gain more inspirations to promote the quality development of Institutes of Economics and Management in Hubei Province.



The keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Wang Zhongming, Senior Professor of Arts at Zhejiang University and Chairman of the SREEN. He pointed out that: (1) the new trend of quality development of business education is mainly reflected in three aspects: competence and mentality (leadership), principle systems building and action strategies; (2) new strategies should be built around four aspects: green management, continuous responsibility, international accreditation and sample majors; (3) the main focus of international cooperation should be the areas of alliance, the Belt and Road platform, capacity building and best practices.



The round-table discussion was presided over by Prof. Wu Haitao, Dean of the SBA. The participating deans of Institutes of Economics and Management respectively had an in-depth exchange on the MBA’s current situation, teaching quality, enrollment indicator and future trends. And then Prof. Wang Zhongming gave professional guidance and advice to each institute on the development of MBA one by one.



At the end of the meeting, Prof. Wu Haitao, Dean of the SBA and Director of MBA Education Center, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Wang Zhongming for coming to the symposium to give guidance to the work of MBA education and to the guests from other institutes for their active participation.
