At present, the international economic and trade environment is facing profound changes. The construction of a new development pattern and the promotion of institutional opening-up have also become the important guidance in the new development stage of our country. The new circumstances and new tasks have formulated new requirements for the reform and development of education. In order to promote the training of Chinese graduate students majoring in international business to better meet the requirements for advancing the economy and the major national needs, improve the service ability and talents quality, and discuss the upgrading strategy and high-quality development of the free trade zone and port, on December 4th, 2022, sponsored by the National Steering Committee for Graduate Education of International Business Major, supported by the University of International Business and Economics, and hosted by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, the Forum on International Business Talent Training and High-quality Free Trade Zone and Port Construction was held. Experts and scholars from more than 30 well-known universities in China gathered at Xiaonan Lake and shared their views.
The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Prof. Hu Honghong, Dean of the Postgraduate School of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. Prof. Yao Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Prof. Hong Junjie, Deputy Chief Member of the National Steering Committee for Graduate Education of International Business Major and Vice President of University of International Business and Economics, and Chen Huarong, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Hubei Province, delivered speeches respectively, extending a warm welcome to all the experts and scholars attending the forum and stressing that the cultivation of international business talents and the construction of a high-quality free trade zone are important contents of accelerating the construction of a strong country in education, talent and trade.

Prof. Cui Liming from Liaoning University, Prof. Zhong Changbiao from Ningbo University, Prof. Yin Zhongming from Southwest University for Nationalities, Prof. Xu Tongsheng from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics analyzed and explored the application and construction of professional master’s authorization in international business, the development of economic discipline in the era of digital economy, and the dissertation requirements for overseas Master in International Business.
In addition, Prof. Huang Xianhai from Zhejiang University, Prof. Huang Jianzhong from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Prof. Zhao Chunming from Beijing Normal University, Prof. Yin Desheng from East China Normal University, Prof. Lu Yi from Tsinghua University, Prof. Wei Long from Wuhan University of Technology respectively covered the development of global digital economy and rule system construction, high-level opening strategy, Beijing Free Trade Zone construction, FT account expansion and upgrading, state-owned enterprise reform, and digital upgrading of inland free trade, and discussed and prospected the upgrading strategy and high quality development of the free trade zone and port.
This forum has provided a good platform for the academic exchange and discussion of experts and scholars in related fields, helped to expand the academic boundary, and built consensus on plans and inspire policy innovation for the cultivation of international business talents and the construction of high-quality free trade zone.
